The ongoing crisis of this parish has been on for several months now (since late last year). It all started when the shepherd who was newly posted to the parish early last year wanted to dissolve the parochial committee of the parish because they have been in office for five years instead of the usual two years tenure. His decision was apparently not welcomed by them. After then, strong allegations were laid against the shepherd by some elders, members of the parochial committee and some youth. They wanted the shepherd to be removed from the parish at all cost! Not minding the fact that he is yet to complete his required two years in the parish. This generated a lot of heat in the church, so much that several elders in celestial church especially those from the international headquarters in Ketu tried on several occasions to resolve the issue in the parish but to no avail. It then escalated to the point of division between members of the parish;those who are in full support of the shepherd because they believe he is innocent of the many allegations against him and the others who strongly want the shepherd out of the parish for reasons best known to them.
Close to two months now, the parish has been having two different services at the same time. The group against the shepherd worship at the smaller church while those with the shepherd worship on the floor in front of the locked cathedral. See pictures below
Recent information coming from a reliable source says the shepherd's group have broken out of the parish and are relocating to a new piece of land where they will have their first service tomorrow sunday 3rd April. As a matter of fact, they have a new parish name and are laying the altar today at the new site. The other group are moving back from the smaller church to the cathedral too.
It's really sad it resulted to this but i believe God's eyes is seeing all our works and he is the only one who will rightly judge all.
Best wishes to both parishes(old and new). I guess now peace will reign and there will be no hassles anymore.
